Fuel-alcohol can reduce pollution, shows study

A mixture of fuel and alcohol can reduce pollution in the emission of automobiles by over 20 per cent, says a study by the Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun. Organised at the initiative of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the study reveals that use of fuel-alcohol can lead to as much as 20 per cent reduction in hydrocarbon emissions, CPCB chairman D K Biswas told the Financial Express.
