Electric buses powered by highly efficient energy conversion devices called "fuel cells" are a feasible solution to tackle toxic emissions from petrol and diesel vehicles, according to a Tata Energy Research Institute factsheet. The average Indian automobile user being price sensitive, the introduction of higher efficiency engines and better fuel quality would not be enough as it would increase prices of vehicles and fuel, the recent factsheet said.
