Full wages not paid under rural job scheme

Tirunelveli, VILLAGERS of Aalavandhankulam under Manoor Panchayat Union in Tirunelveli district complained to the District Collector that they have been receiving less money as payment under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme (NREGP). In a petition submitted to the District Collector G Prakash during the grievance day meeting held here on Monday, the villagers said over 100 eligible persons from the villages of Pallamadai, Alavandhankulam and Nellaithiruthu have registered their names under the NREGP and the job cards for the same have been issued. Under the NREGP, a beneficiary is entitled to 100 days of work in a financial year and would be paid Rs 80 per day. The petitioners said,
