Sichuan Province has about a quarter of the money it needs to rebuild after the earthquake in May that left 90,000 people dead and missing and destroyed much of its infrastructure, the newspaper China Daily said Tuesday. Citing provincial Vice Governor Huang Xiaoxiang, the state-run paper said the southwestern province was about $180 billion short of the estimated $244 billion needed for rebuilding. Some 4.5 million homes, 51,000 kilometers of highways and 5,400 kilometers of railroads must be rebuilt, the paper said. (AP)
