The government has sanctioned Rs 87 lakh to develop roads, which connect Harangi reservoir, said MLA M P Appachu Ranjan. Speaking after performing the Bhoomi Pooja of a road development work near Harangi reservoir here on Monday, Ranjan said that four approach roads will be constructed for the convenience of farmers. There is a proposal to develop a park in front of the reservoir to attract tourists on Public-Private-Partnership mode. The matter was discussed with the Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai, he added. A total of 49 acres of land has been reserved in the taluk for the construction of houses for the poor, he informed. Hassan Milk Federation Director K T Arunkumar, Taluk BJP President M N Kumarappa among others were present at the programme.
