Funds sanctioned for drinking water transportation

In order to ensure smooth supply of drinking water in various parts of the State facing drinking water scarcity, the State Government have sanctioned an amount of Rs 7 crore 22 lakh 54 thousand for transportation of drinking water in nine districts during the current summer season. Of this, the first installment of Rs three crore 61 lakh 25 thousand has already been released.
The nine districts, which have been sanctioned funds for drinking water transportation, are: Badwani, Katni, Mandla, Damoh, Dewas, Satna, Rewa, Indore and Bhopal. The Relief Commissioner would release the second installment only after the submission of details of the expenditure out of the allotted funds and utility certificate by the concerned urban bodies.
Of the allotment released for drinking water transportation, a maximum amount of Rs 1 core 33 lakh 87 thousand has been provided to Indore district. While Rs 30 lakh has been alloted to the Kolar urban body of Bhopal district, similarly, a sum of Rs 26 lakh 24 thousand has been allotted to seven bodies of Badwani district, Rs 12 lakh 55 thousand to three bodies of Katni, Rs four lakh 30 thousand to five bodies of Mandla district, Rs 54 lakh 90 thousand to five bodies of Damoh district, Rs 30 lakh 82 thousand to ten urban bodies of Dewas district, Rs 26 lakh 55 thousand to nine bodies of Satna district and finally a sum of Rs 42 lakh 2 thousand has been allotted to ten bodies of Rewa district.
All the concerning collectors have been directed to make payments as per the norms of standing directives and disaster relief fund laid down with regard to meet the drought, drinking water scarcity and other problems in their respective districts.
