A destructive 'die-back' disease has struck the eco-friendly, evergreen neem tree. The die-back disease, as named by botanists, was noticed about four years ago and it is now well established that it has spread to all parts of Karnataka. Reports from other parts of the South and from Dehra Dun in the North show the incidence of this disease, which unless controlled now, might wipe off this species altogether.
