Dr K K Seth, a geologist in Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University has refuted the contention of eminent geologist Dr Janandan Negi that earthquakes do not occur becuse of dams, Dr Seth emphasised that out of about one lac dams constructed around the world, 75 cases have come to light where the earthquakes were caused by the dams . 17 such cases are related to India.
