India's continuing progress in scientific field is commendable. Our scientists have found out the formula which would produce electricity from thorium. Scientists have completed the first phase of ambitious project of producing electricity from thorium. Having a little capacity the main aim of this facility is to design parameter of thorium reactor of 300mw power project. The scientists team which has got preliminary success in producing electricity from thorium, deserves all accolades. Last month this research platform had become critical in which the thorium reactor situations could be created at small level. It would clear the way for research on solid base. It is noticeable that India's atomic electricity programme is of three phase. In the first phase electricity is being produced with uranium, but the uranium available in our country is sufficient only to produce 10 thousand mw electricity, whereas we have huge store of thorium and that's why the atomic scientists are eager to implement three phased nuclear programme. The work of second phase is continuing. India is preparing first prototype fast breeder reactor of 500mw. In this project the fuel got from first phase would be used and more fuel could be received. After the second phase the third phase is most important for India. Thorium could be used in it. According to a report it would take around three decades in getting complete success. The government should pay attention towards science sector and the scientists working in this field should be given all the facilities. As there is shortage of uranium in our country so attention on this alternative should be given properly to reach up to third phase programme. Thus India needs nuclear deal with America without any delay.
