The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is all set to make inroads in the neighbouring town of Ghaziabad. The DMRC has prepared a detailed project report for the extension of the Shahdara line to Ghaziabad via Sahibabad. In a major decision, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) board has decided to grant permission for the Metro rail link from Shahdara to the new bus stand in Ghaziabad. The board has, however, objected to the Metro project connecting Noida to Mehrauli via the Hapur bypass.
