A new Masterplan for Ghaziabad will be ready by November this year, said Ved Mittal, chief architect and town planner for Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA). The new Masterplan, which will be effective till 2021, is being prepared at a cost of Rs 20 lakh and will cover Loni, Dasna, Modi Nagar, Murad Nagar and Ghaziabad city. The city's last Masterplan was made in 1980. The Masterplan's biggest challenge will be to provide facilities to 30 lakh people expected to be living in Ghaziabad in the year 2021, said Mittal. According to the new plan, GDA will coordinate with agencies handling power, sewerage and water supply to develop infrastructure in the city. Earlier plans simply earmarked space for these facilities.
