Instead of being paid in cash, as shown in the records, daily-wage workers employed in the Corbett National Park are being allowed to take wood and other costly forest produce as remuneration. A local forest committee member, Anand Singh Bisht has produced photographs showing how the daily wagers are allowed to take home the forest wealth unchecked.Bisht had to spend a day in a local police station, along with his photographer friend, for having taken snaps of the convoy of labourers emerging from the Park forest, to be produced as evidence before top forest authorities.
