People of Gilgit are up in arms against Pakistan Government over the proposed Bhasha Dam, whose benefits will to go to North Western Frontier Province (NFWP). It would inundate 32 villages of Gilgit and render 30,000 people homeless. It would be pertinent to mention that the Pakistan Government raised a hue and cry over India's decision to construct Baglihar Hydropower Project on Chenab river but is silent over this highly contentious issue.
