The ginkgo is a companionable tree that likes to live in a place, its pollution notwithstanding. The ginkgo prefers to dwell somewhere where there is smoke in the air and some of man's waste products on the ground. In return it gives us beauty and shade in the streets of the cities and towns where they are planted.
