'Global warming': Awareness campaign on July 25, 26

Mangalore: Canara English Higher Primary School Dongerkery will organise an awareness campaign from July 25 and 26 to inform the people about the hazardous disasters that global warming can cause to the world. Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Institution Manager M Jayanth Kamath said that the institution has organised a series of programmes for the same and accordingly the school students will participate in a road show on July 25 at 11 am from the school premises to PVS Circle and back. The road show will be flagged off by Corporation Bank General Manager B R Bhat and over 500 students from III to V standard will participate in the road show along with parents and teachers, displaying placards prepared by them carrying messages of danger arising due to global warming. Mr Kamath said that on July 26, a stage programme will be organised at T V Raman Pai Convention Centre at 10 am where the students will submit a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao. Mayor Ganesh Hosabettu, IGP Ashith Mohan Prasad, MLA N Yogish Bhat and others will be present. Head Teacher Gayathri Pai, PTA President Shridevi Kini and others were present.
