Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has appealed to all Goans, irrespective of caste, creed, colour or political affiliation, to remain united and strengthen the hands of Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat in the fight against the establishment of Special Economic Zones till the last stone is unturned in the larger interest of the state. Complimenting the Chief Minister for his bold decision in directing the Goa IDC to revoke land allotted to the seven company for setting up the SEZs, Lourenco said the decision has given a clear indication that no Goan land will be parted for establishing SEZs. "This is indeed a great day for all Goa. But, what remains to be seen is how and in what manner the scenario would unfold itself in the immediate future. Is the issue finally resolved or is this the beginning of a long-drawn battle in the courts of law, only time will present the answer', the MLA said. He appreciated that the IDC Board of Directors under the Chairmanship of MLA Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar has implemented the government decision expeditiously without any hesitation laying to rest speculations about the sincerity of the government to scrap SEZs in Goa.
