Gogoi urges special package for erosion-hit

In a significant policy shift, Assam Government has prioritised erosion over floods, identifying it as a more dangerous threat, even as Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi called for special packages for erosion-affected areas and border area development. Erosion is a more serious threat than floods. The damages caused by floods are serious but it is not permanent, while erosion causes permanent destruction, asserted Gogoi.
