Imagine having bamboo flakes for breakfast along with some bamboo juice. Or bamboo beer in the evenings accompanied with some spicy bamboo shoot snacks! And imagine setting up an electricity unit in your own backyard powered by a bamboo gasifier. The Planning Commission would like you and thousands of others to do all this and more, in an attempt to boost the Rs 2,043 crore bamboo economy in India to Rs 26,000 crore by 2015.
