Reports of illegal felling of trees and large scale human interference in the natural growth of forests notwithstanding, there is good news not only for environmentalists and the Forest Department but also for the people of the Himachal Pradesh. The forest cover in Himachal has recorded an increase of 1,278 sq kms during the last two years.
