Government nod for four new major projects in the Valley

The state government today issued approval to go ahead for 4 new major irrigation projects in Narmada Valley. On completing these projects would create an additional irrigation potential of 1.38 lakh hectare. The quick approval for these proposed project came in the light of the Chief Minister top priority for ensuring utilization of allocated 18.25 M.A.F Narmada water to state by Narmada water dispute Tribunal Award. It may be mentioned here that approval for these projects was accorded in the 32nd meeting of Narmada control Board chaired by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Choahan a few days before. The Member (Engineering) NVDA Shri V.K. Bhatia informed that in accordance with the approval by N.C.B. the state government has sanctioned of Rs. 7.6 crore for sher Shkkar Machrera project of Narsingpur district, Rs. 4.8 crore for Ataria project of Jabalpur district. Rs. 3.2 crore for Dudhi project of Hoshangabad district and Rs. 3.00 crore for upper Budhner Project of Dindori district. Bhatia said that sactioned amount would be incurred upon survey and various investigation required to prepare detail project reports. He informed that on completion Ataria project would create 12900 Hectare irrigation potential (Jabalpur district) Dudhi Project 50600 Hectare (Hoshangabad District) upper Budhner 9800 hectare (Dindori district) and Sher Shakker Machrera project would create 64700 Hectare in Narsingpur district.
