In a move dubbed as the first of its kind, the Labour Commission has identified 37 children catering to different establishments in and around the Chennai city. However, the first strike proved inefective as only six of them expressed their willingness to be rescued and rehabilitated. Labour Commissionerate officials said after a decision taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the department had raided hotels in the city on December 7.
