The Japanese government will impose tougher restrictions on dioxin emissions to control environmental pollution by the dangerous chemical in Japan. A council of cabinet members will adopt as early as March 30 a set of basic guidelines to curb dioxin pollution by reducing emissions as much as 90%. The guidelines will cover inspection procedures and set figures for tolerance daily intake of dioxin.
