Nilgiris District Potato and Vegetable Producers Association has urged the Tamil Nadu government to withdraw the order banning felling of Silver Oak trees grown in tea estates. He said that Silver Oak tree was removed from the Scheduled Timber in 1997 in the larger interest of tea growers.
