Following the successful conversion of a diesel engine-- of bus-- to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by the Indian Institute of petroleum, Dehradun, the transport ministry of Delhi government has sent the report to the Union ministry of surface transport seeking sanction for large-scale conversions. Sources in the transport ministry said once the report was approved the Delhi government shall immediately start conversion of buses under the Delhi Transport Corporation and those plying under the kilometre scheme.
