DH News Service, Bangalore: The State government is committed to provide potable water from surface-level sources to all urban and rural areas in five years, Chief Minister Yeddyurappa said on Thursday. Speaking to reporters after a meeting with senior officers of Urban Development and Water Resources departments, he said at present only 20 per cent of urban dwellers and four per cent of rural people are getting drinking water from reservoirs. The rest are depending on ground water.
