Govt evolving comprehensive forest policy

The government is in the process of evolving a comprehensive forest policy, dividing forest land in three zones, said Suresh Prabhu, minister for environments and forests. Addressing members of Indian Paper Makers' Association (IPMA) at the annual general meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday, Mr Prabhu explained that the three zones of forest land would comprise of - the first zone which will be out of bounds for all, the second zone where some industries are permitted to come up and the third zone will cater to everyone's need.
