Govt extends cutoff date for relocation of slums

The Delhi government has decided to extend the cutoff date for relocation of slum dwellers from March, 1994 , to January ,1998 . This is part of the government's slum policy expected to be announced in the next few days. The government, sources said, had alos decided to inverease the area to be allocated for slum dwellers settled before March, 1990, from 18 to 20 square metres, while those settled after that will get 15 square metre plots instead of 12 square metres.
