The Assam Government has framed the terms of reference of the expert committee to be set up shortly to suggest measures for formulating a comprehensive forest plan in the interest of maintaining the ecological balance, said the Minister of State for Forest, Sri Pradyut Bordoloi. He said that prominent experts in the field from different parts of the country would be included in the committee. The Minister admitted that immediate steps must be taken to restore the forest cover in Assam to maintain the ecological balance and any plan in this regard must be formulated keeping in mind the particular situation in Assam.
