Govt plans new policy on shacks

Minister for Tourism Matanhy Saldanha, on July 26, declared the Goa State government's intentions of forming a policy to regulate the allotment of shacks along the coastal belt. Besides working out guidelines pertaining to allocation of shacks vis a vis space available, Mr Saldanha told the House that the policy would give top priority to issues pertaining to free access for people to the sandy shores.
