Govt to relieve debt-ridden farmers within three weeks

The Centre, as per its announcement in the Union Budget, will relieve debt-ridden farmers from their loans within three weeks by issuing final orders, agriculture minister Sharad Pawar said here on Saturday. Pawar, who was here to participate in the golden jubilee celebration of Ahmednagar District Central Co-operative Bank, said the Congress and NCP have decided to jointly contest the forthcoming Parliament and Assembly elections. There will be exchange of a few seats by the two parties due to the newly structured constituencies. But Ahmednagar Parliamentary Constituency will be contested by NCP only, he stated. Pawar said that the price rise in the country has reached 7.57%. But the situation will become normal very soon, he added. The minister honoured 11 eminent social workers and 11 past directors of the district bank. Chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Union energy minister Sushilkumar Shinde were also present at the function.
