Participants of an initial round of discussion on the proposal for inter-basin linkage of the Union Government held at the Swahid Nyas Bhawan in Guwahati, under the aegis of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), recommended to the State Government constitution of a commission to supply all the aspects connected with the move to link the Brahmaputra with the other rivers of the country. The participants also decided to form a committee for the purpose of preparing a detailed paper on the problems that may surface as a consequence of the implementation of the Union Government's move.
