New Delhi/Karwar: When staff and workers at the Kaiga nuclear plant began to show above normal radiation levels, authorities hit the alarm button. Teams began to urgently scour the complex for signs of a telltale radiation leak that could have exposed the staff to radioactivity. But despite routine urine samples of some 50 persons showing higher levels of radiation, plant managers were baffled as detailed checks of operational areas showed no leaks. But then more leads from those affected by radioactivity threw up a common link
