TIMES NEWS NETWORK Ahmedabad: Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) has gathered first visible evidence against four pharma and packaging firms in Narol and Isanpur whose names figured in the list of 26 firms recycling medical waste. A raiding team found boxes containing used medicine bottles with their cartons that were supplied by a scap dealer to these companies. The report is being sent to GPCB chairman, while rest of the 22 names are being investigated. Officials fear that if more raiding teams are not formed immediately, rest of the culprits would get time to tamper with evidence. The companies for which individual reports have been prepared are Medivate Laboratory and Ketlik Pharma in Isanpur while Gujarat Pharma and Gujarat Remedy were investigated in Narol. "The degree of punitive measures will be decided by a GPCB state-level committee immediately on sending the report. We will receive reports pertaining to other companies in a few days. Meanwhile, in Sabarkantha district, our regional office has issued notices to 22 doctors and private clinics in the last two days," says a senior GPCB official in Gandhinagar. AMC identifies more dubious dealers: Fourteen more names of alleged dubious dealers have emerged from a 'kutcha list' released by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).
