Grave threat to South India's bio-diversity

Environmentalist and advisor to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), Dr. Rashmi Mayur, has warned of complete degradation in the sub-continent's ecology in the near future. Specifically, South India's unique bio-diversity faced a grave threat, he said. Dr. Mayur said a pointer to the degradation was the depletion of ground water levels.
