A scientist apart, there's a gardener in APJ Abdul Kalam. The Herbal Garden, spread across 10 acres at Rashtrapati Bhawan, is proof. "Although India is the land of Ayurveda, we aren't the largest exporter of herbal products; China leads this race. The President's focus is on increasing the yield of soil; he wants to use technology for social progress. The Herbal Garden has been set up to educate people on how our herbal wealth can be harnessed on a commercial scale," informs SM Khan, press secretary to Kalam.
