The Chennai Corporation has introduced a scheme 'Green Channel' for giving plan sanction for buildings on the same day of applying. Presently, the civic body is taking at least 15 days to grant such permissions. According to official sources, under the 'Green Channel' scheme which was introduced, plan and building permissions could be obtained for 'ordinary residential buildings' with a maximum of four dwelling units and commercial buildings with two floors not exceeding 300 sq mt in the 'mixed residential zone or commercial zone.'
