Jamshedpur, April 10: Foresters in Saranda will soon launch an afforestation project that was sidelined for a year in view of threats from rebels and their sporadic clashes with security personnel. The project under the Compensatory Afforestation Management Plan Authority (Campa) of the Centre had been shelved, although it was supposed to start at the beginning of the last fiscal (2010-11). However, the Saranda division, which had received Rs 1.3 crore for the project, will now take it up, albeit only in the peripheral areas of the forest that has a sprawling saal reserve spread across 850sqkm.
