The Kerala Assembly has decided to take lead in initiating a mass social forestry programme in the state, with the participation of the local bodies.Announcing this in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday, the Speaker, M. Vijayakumar said the programme, known as Haritha Keralam - Niyamasaha - 2000'(Green Kerala Assembly 2000) would be launched by chief minist E.K. Nayanar on November 1 at the Assembly complex.
