Close on the heels of forest fires reported in Bandipur and Mudhumalai forest ranges, in Karnataka, ground fires have been noticed at Nagahole too. At least two ranges of the seven in the division have been reportedly affected by the ground fires. Though the fires are said to be routine in this deciduous forest belt during summer, and are on a smaller scale, officials are leaving no stone unturned in containing the fires. The forest officials are on their toes to contain it and all the officials are in their respective ranges to prevent fires.
