Annan : World Water Day - which is celebrated on March 22 was organised by the Indian Water Resources Society (IWRS). The theme for this year was 'Ground Water - The Invisible Resource'. "Ground water is a fragile resource. Growing population and increasing urbanisation and industrialisation are taking a severe toll on it's quantity and quality," said UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in his message on the occasion. While a report of the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) states that the bulk of ground water is non-relenishable, Dr S.P.Sinharay, a member of the Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), disagrees.
