A high-level central action group has been set up to study various aspects of bonded labour. The group, formed by the National Human Rights Commission , will submit periodic reports to the Supreme Court. On November 11, 1997, the Supreme Court has brought under the NHRC's purview the task of supervising the implementation of all laws relating to abolition of bonded labour.
