Gujarat Maritime Board seeks more time for MPSEZ report

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) on Thursday sought further time from Gujarat High Court to submit its inspection report regarding fishermen's allegations on the Adanis that the Mundra Port Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ) has violated court's order by contunued to fill three creeks near Mundra. A division bench has granted GMB the time till Aug 29 to file its reply. Earlier, it was asked to file the report on Thursday and the hearing was kept on August 25. Along with the Kutch collectorate, the port officer of Mandvi was also asked to inspect Baradi Mata Creek-2 , Kotdi Creek-2 and the Zarpara Creek and to find whether the company was filling them or dumping the soil dredged from sea. The GMB on Thursday filed an application saying that inspection could not be possible due to monsoon and following staff crunch in the vacation period. Meanwhile, the collectorate has filed its report on the subject.
