A proposal to notify the Rajaji national park in the western U.P. hills may run into rough weather with the Van Gujjars, a pastoral forest-dwelling tribe, threatening to move the Supreme Court for settlement of a dispute raised by the Uttar Pradesh Government over their centuries old land use rights.
