Converter Installed To Produce Bio-Fertilizer
Gurgaon: While the city craves for improved civic amenities, some resident associations are coming forward with initiatives to solve day to-day problems. One such commendable initiative has been taken by residents of Beverley Park-1 who have installed an organic waste converter in their premises to convert biodegradable waste into fertilizer, a first of its kind in a condominium in Gurgaon.
Garbage dumping has always been a problem in the millennium city among other civic problems. In fact, residents of DLF area have been constantly agitating against HUDA authorities for illegal dumping of garbage in their area. Recently, they moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court to appeal against the ongoing illegal practice. In such a scenario, a bid to absorb major part of the waste at its originating point comes as a noble effort to solve problems.
The organic waste converter was installed at the posh condominium, home to around 150 families, around two months ago by the RWA at a cost of Rs 4 lakh. The machine converts kitchen waste into fertilizer, which is then used for plantations in and around the buildings.
