Guv seeks explanation from State Govt on water supply issues

Taking cognisance of the media report about complaints regarding shortage of drinking water in certain areas in Dehradun and increase in patients of diarhhoea due to consumption of contaminated drinking water in Nainital district, State Governor Dr Aziz Qureshi has sought explanation from the State Government.
He mentioned that media is consistently running news that diarhhoea had spread due to polluted water in Nainital. In his letter, the Governor has made special mention for the provision of clean drinking water on the yatra routes. He has suggested that support of private organisations may be taken in this yatra to make it better organised and safer About Nanda Raj Jat which is proposed to be held from August 17 to September 3, the Governor said that a detailed report should be prepared for him regarding the preparations being made by the Government for this historic yatra. There should be provision of health facilities, public conveniences, bathing facilities and oxygen on the yatra routes.
