Felled trees, an 'under siege' garden in Connaught Place and some transplanted trees fighting for survival in their newly foisted homes. That sums up the government's commitment to greening Delhi. About 1800 trees will be felled to make way for the Delhi metro. Of these nearly a thousand have already been uprooted. The logs and branches of the felled trees have been given to civic agencies who auction the timber. The rest are struggling to survive.
