The Haryana Irrigation Department (HID) has warned Delhi of a water problem after a breach in the Delhi Branch Canal. The canal supplies the Nangloi and Haiderpur water treatment plants, that cater to west Delhi and parts of south Delhi. The HID claims that it informed the Delhi Jal Board about the breach by letter on June 23 and asked it to make alternative arrangements. HID blames the DJB for the problem, saying that it had not allowed Haryana to close it for irrigation work.
