Haryana has won a water battle of sorts with Delhi after it managed to convince the Upper Yamuna River Board (UYRB) that the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) was "illegally' drawing water from the Yamuna and diverting it to the Bhagirathi water treatment plant. In a letter to the DJB, the UYRB has now asked it to provide a daily report of the water being withdrawn from the Yamuna via the Sangam Pumping Station at Wazirabad. The DJB has also been asked to resolve the water shortage at Bhagirathi plant with Uttar Pradesh and instruct its officials not to do anything that may jeopardise the water supply that Delhi was receiving.
