Haryana to spend 560 crore under NREG scheme

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Tuesday that Rs. 560 crore would be spent in Haryana under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) during the current financial year so that ample employment opportunities could be generated in the rural areas. Addressing a meeting after launching the NREGS in Karnal district, Mr.Hooda announced that the scheme had now been implemented in all the 20 districts in the State. He said that the NREGS had been launched in the country with the inspiration of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi who had introduced a resolution in Parliament and the sagacious leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He added that AICC, General Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi had also played a key role in the implementation of this programme. He said the under the scheme, employment of a minimum 100 days would be ensured in a year.
