Division Bench of Jammu Kashmir High Court Jammu comprising Chief Justice B C Patel and Justice S K Gupta in a Public Interest Litigation seeking protection of forests took serious note of the non-filling of counter affidavit by the State respondents. The petitioners have alleged in the PIL that despite the directions of the Supreme Court the green felling is continuing which is against the spirit of Apex Court's judgment and thus in order to preserve the illegal felling the directions are required to be issued to the State respondents so that the green wealth of the state be protected.
